    For experienced HR and Payroll specialists and advisors.

  • Entry level
    VPS training, successfully completed with a diploma (required for participation) or a Masters’ Law degree preferably Tax, Social Security and/or Law.

    This tailor-made training is adapted to the level of the participants.

  • Purpose
    Gain theoretical and practical knowledge in the field of expat remuneration. The participants graduate as Officers, Specialists or Advisors within the international HR & Payroll field.

    Day 1
    – The international HR & Payroll process
    – Employment law (legal) aspects of cross-border work
    – Immigration obligations when working cross-border
    – Fact Pack – Legal and Immigration

    Day 2
    – Wage and income tax (Personal Tax) in international situations
    – Working with tax treaties
    – Determine the tax status of an employee in international situations
    – Fact Pack – Personal tax

    Day 3
    – Social security in international situations
    – Working with the EEC regulation on social security
    – Determine the social security status of an employee in international situations
    – Fact Pack – Social Security

    Day 4
    – Financial impact of international situations
    – Gross-to-net salary calculation versus income tax
    – Preparation of cost statements
    – Fact Pack – Payroll and Finance

    Day 5
    – HR & Payroll governance framework
    – Set up the C&B matrix
    – Set up the R&O matrix
    – Fact Pack – Control framework

    Final assignment
    Officer:
    ✓ Practical final assignment for the preparation of a Fact Pack for an international case that will be examined orally.
    ✓ A presentation must be prepared about the elaboration of this Fact Pack and the resulting to-do’s.

    Specialist:
    ✓ Those who have opted for this must submit a practical assignment on how to set up a Fact Pack with the corresponding C&B matrix.
    ✓ A presentation must be prepared on the elaboration of this Fact Pack, C&B matrix and the resulting to-do’s.

    Advisor:
    ✓ Those who choose to do so will have to submit a practical assignment on setting up advice in the field of international HR & Payroll.
    ✓ A presentation on the elaboration of the international advice must be prepared.

  • Duration
    – 5 training days x 6 hours = 30 hours
    – 4 hours of final assignment and presentation (exam)
    – The (re)exam must te taken within one year after completion of the training

  • Study load
    Depending on your level of knowledge, the study load is an average of 8 to 15 hours per week.

  • Study materials
    All study materials will be provided and distributed on the first day of the training.
